Higher National Diploma in Counselling

BA (Hons) Sociology and Social Administration

At present I am working in private practise and see clients for a whole range of different issues which are causing difficulties in their life.

Prior to my private practise, I worked in the field of primary care, in a G.P. surgery. My clients were referred to me by their doctor because their physical health was being affected by their state of mind…and vice versa.

Previously, I have worked in education and have a background in teaching.

My philosophy of counselling, my experience of work and my life experiences are what support my counselling.

As well as counselling, I am a mentor with the North Northumberland Women’s Network, supporting women at a crossroads in their life. This is a different role from that of a counsellor but it has certain similarities in that I am supporting women to identify personal goals in their life and looking at ways to achieve them.

I am a qualified counsellor and Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I can offer you a confidential counselling service according to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
